You are invited to the Opening Reception for the Missouri Falls Fine Arts Show & Sale to enjoy guitarist Dave Raba. He describes his original music as “alternative folk.” Prevailing lyrical themes include reverence for the natural world and spirituality (he lived as a monk for a time in Oregon). “There’s an organic nature to what I’m trying to write about,” Raba says, noting he’s been shaped by “underground all-ages punk music.”Raba’s formative influences include Jackmormans founder Jerry Joseph and Chris Whitley.
Dave Raba began his musical career as a drummer and percussionist during his school years. He took a break from music for several years before jumping back in at age 25, and he subsequently worked with local groups such as Bent Elephant, Shadowhand, and Bridgebuilder. Nine years ago Raba started to learn guitar as a tool for writing music.
His self-produced debut studio album is “Become.” available locally at Cassopeia books and online at cdbaby.com David has been featured on KGPR Montana Public Radio in Great falls in 2015, 2018 and 2020 promoting his five albums which showcase his unique approach and lyrical poetry.
